Ursa Major is a contemporary academic choir in Tbilisi known for its modern choral renditions, marking its debut in the spiritually resonant St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church during a season of celebration.
My photography series aims to capture the emotive essence of sacred choral singing and the communal spirit it fosters. It delves into how individuals come together under the majestic church dome, united by the transcendent power of music.
Adapting to Tbilisi was a challenge, yet it was through the melodies and harmonies of choral music that I found solace and connection. Singing became a catalyst in my journey, helping me to overcome the isolation of emigration, forge friendships, and discover a renewed sense of belonging in this new place.
Through this series, I wish to share the transformative power of music that has been a personal beacon of hope and community for me in Tbilisi.
